Extensions, alterations, conversions
- Compliance documents (Section 6) for Building Warrant applications
Warrant applications for extensions and conversions do not usually require SAP or SBEM calculations (but if they exceed certain floor areas then they may). Generally they are assessed by other means, including area weighted average U values, Annex 6A compensatory heat loss calculations etc.
A domestic extension exceeding 50m2 floor area should be assessed using an SBEM calculation
A non domestic extension with a floor area exceeding 100m2 or 25% of the existing building floor area should also be assessed using an SBEM calculation.
We can assist by carrying out these heat loss calculations to check energy designs, and can suggest amendments to comply if necessary. For compliant solutions we can produce Compliance documents for submission to Building Control
- U-value and Condensation Risk calculations
We can provide U value and Interstitial Condensation Risk analyses individually from specifications, and suggest amendments if necessary to achieve a required standard.
